Meet us where the moon meets the water.

Join Swenja of Yoga with Sven and Saunaty for a full moon evening at North Beach featuring beach yoga, crystal singing bowls, Lake Michigan, and optional wood-fired sauna.

We’ll begin with an all-levels yoga flow on the beach as the sun sets, then settle in for a restorative sound bath beneath the open sky as daylight fades.

Add a Saunaty sauna session before or after yoga to turn it into the full moon reset.

🔥 HOW THE SAUNA WORKS

Saunaty uses translucent, wood-fired saunas with full red cedar interiors, professionally built by NorthUp Saunas of Minneapolis, MN.

Expect traditional Finnish-style dry heat with controlled steam from water on the stones.

Sauna temperature is generally around 200°F, plus or minus 15° (the real deal).
The upper bench is hottest, while the lower benches are milder.

And no, you are not expected to sit inside for the entire 60 minutes.

A typical sauna session looks something like:

Sauna → Lake → Rest → Hydrate → Repeat

Most people move through a few relaxed heat and cool-down cycles at their own pace. Stay in while it feels good, step outside when you need to, and re-enter when you're ready.

This is not a toughness contest. The goal is to leave feeling better than when you arrived, not emerge as a human baked potato.

Our saunas have also been third-party tested for air quality with no off-gassing at sauna temperatures and are ventilated with approximately 100% fresh-air exchange every four minutes.

🌙 SCHEDULE

5:30–6:30 PM — Pre-Yoga Sauna
6:45–7:45 PM — Full Moon Beach Yoga + Sound Bath
6:45–7:45 PM — Sunset Sauna Only (no yoga)
8:00–9:00 PM — Post-Yoga Night Sauna

Sunset is approximately 7:34 PM, with evening twilight continuing until about 8:02 PM.

🧘 WHAT TO BRING

For yoga:

For sauna:

  • Swimsuit or comfortable athletic clothing you can sweat and swim in

  • Plenty of water

  • Beach towel

  • Warm, dry clothes, robe, or beach poncho for afterward

  • Electrolytes are a great idea

The restroom building will be available for changing clothes.

🛟 SAUNA SAFETY + ETIQUETTE

Please arrive 5–10 minutes early so we can get everyone checked in without eating into your sauna time.

An online liability waiver is required before participating.

During sauna:

  • Keep water nearby and hydrate throughout your session

  • Sauna at your own pace and take breaks whenever you want

  • Remove jewelry and footwear before entering

  • Avoid heavily scented perfumes, lotions, or deodorants

  • No alcohol or recreational drugs before or during sauna

  • A CO detector is present

  • Sauna surfaces are periodically sanitized

If the heat stops feeling good, step outside. Cool down, breathe, hydrate, and decide whether you want another round.

Swimming is completely optional. You can cool down with the lake, the evening air, or both.

🌊 A FEW FINAL NOTES

No yoga or sauna experience needed. All levels are welcome.

Sauna sessions are shared community experiences, so expect other humans. Possibly sandy humans.

Come for yoga. Come for sauna. Come for both!
