100 Minutes • Lake Michigan Plunge • Wood-Fired Saunas
Wood-fired sauna on the shoreline of Lake Michigan at North Beach Park. Real heat. Cold water. Wide horizon. The kind of contrast that leaves you clearer, calmer, and vividly awake.
The 100-minute session is deliberate.
Shorter felt rushed. Two hours dragged. A hundred minutes lands right in the middle, enough time to fully drop in without overdoing it.
You are not in the sauna the entire time. The flow is simple:
Sauna → Lake → Rest → Hydrate → Repeat
Most guests complete three to four relaxed hot-cold cycles. Common reaction at the end:
“Wow, that went by fast.”
If you’re done early, that's fine! Listen to your body. The goal is to walk out feeling sharp, not drained. We give ample time, so everyone can leave fully baked.
Heat up for 15–30 minutes, cool off in Lake Michigan, breathe, rehydrate, repeat at your own pace.
Sauna and cold exposure elevate heart rate similar to light cardio, improve circulation, activate heat-shock proteins, and trigger endorphins linked to better mood, clarity, and deeper sleep.
Two translucent, wood-fired NorthUp saunas custom-built (professionally) in Minneapolis, MN.
They blend into the landscape and fill with natural light. Full panoramic rear windows frame Lake Michigan, creating an open, spacious feel.
Traditional Finnish dry sauna style. Hot, mostly dry, with periodic water on stones for controlled steam.
